dated for 1858, with 21in. smoothbore barrel, fixed open sights, the side of barrel below rear-sight marked 'N.S' over 'KOS', sold out of service stamps at breech, borderline engraved signed and dated lock with 'VR' crown device to tail, walnut full-stock (extensive filled termite damage to left of butt, toe repaired), Farsi markings to brass heel-plate top-spur repeated on the trigger guard tang, two iron barrel-bands and captive pan-headed iron stirrup ramrod
